Cordycep militaris is not an insect nor plant. It is a specie of parasitic fungus. From ancient days it has been treasured as a medicine of long life and nutritious tonic. It has been taken as infused in Japan. Many people say it is good for vigorousness of body and mind and to get rid of fatigue.

It is known as a food for long life in China from ancient days. It contains many nutrients such as vitamin A,B₁,B₂,C, calcium, phosphorus and iron. It also contains betain and zeaxanthine which are good to produce fruit wine or to eat fresh or to make dried fruits.
